Cruise timetable & bookings

Step back in time with a cruise aboard P S Industry – an authentic steam powered work boat commissioned in 1911.

One hour cruises are scheduled on Sundays of most long weekends, during school holidays or the first Sunday of selected (except February or days of extreme heat).

All cruising is dependent on minimum passenger numbers and volunteer crew availability.

On the 60 minute scenic cruise passengers will see wildlife consisting of waterfowl and even a koala or two as you pass between majestic rivergums and cliffs.

Charters and group bookings are available by appointment.

Souvenirs can be purchased on board.

Charter rates

A start-up fee is included in the following rates:

First two hours – $1,500.00
Three hours – $1,750.00
Four hours – $1,950.00

Addition hours – $150.00
Standby – $100.00
Reload (Turnaround fee) – $300.00

Charter to Wilkadene – $2,500.00 one way

 Charters cancelled by the charterer less than 8 hours prior to scheduled departure time will be liable for 50% of the charter fee.

Maximum number of passengers 60 (which includes babies & children).  

Liquor Licenses must be obtained and are the responsibility of clients for any liquor to be consumed/sold on board during charters.  A copy of license MUST be supplied to the PS Industry for display during the charter.

Terms and Conditions:

CANCELLATION POLICY – The Friends of the Industry reserves the right to cancel a cruise/s due to unfavorable weather, extreme heat, mechanical concerns or for any other unforeseen reason.  If the cruise is cancelled by us we will reschedule your tour or refund the full amount of monies paid less the online payment fee,

If you the purchaser wish to cancel your booking and provide 48 hours or more notice you will have the choice to reschedule your cruise to another date or receive a full refund of monies paid less the online payment fee.  If less than 48 hours is provided to cancel your booking you will have the opportunity to reschedule your tour to an alternative time/date NO refund will be given in this instance.

Charters cancelled by the charterer less than8 hours prior to the scheduled departure will be liable for 50% of the charter fee.

Heat Policy – Due to the historic nature of the PS Industry the vessel is restricted in its operations when extreme heat is forecast. This is to protect the health and wellbeing of the volunteer crew and all passengers onboard.  The Friends of the Industry will  monitor the weather conditions and act upon their heat policy if the following condition is exceeded – If the weather as at 3pm Thursday preceding the scheduled tour date is predicted to be 38 degrees Celsius or above(via the Bureau of Meteorology) the cruise will be cancelled.

Purchasers will be notified vie SMS or phone call of the cancellation and the conditions of the Cancellation Policy will apply.

COVID 19 – In the event of the government or any other authorised agency enforcing travel restrictions or a lockdown and your booking is unable to9 be fulfilled, we will refund the full amount of monies paid less the online payment fee.  For non-Covid related cancellations please refer to our Cancellation Policy.

• Payment in full is required to secure all cruise bookings aboard the PS Industry
• Dogs are not permitted onboard excluding those authorised and identifiable as Assistance Dogs.
• Smoking and/or alcohol is not permitted onboard.
• Children must be supervised at all times.
• Life jackets for children are available on request when boarding.
• The vessel was constructed as a works vessel and as such provides limited protection for passengers during inclement weather.
